An ortho mapping workspace manages all the ortho mapping resources and we will create one in this lesson.
Follow the video or the instruction text below to create a orthomapping mapping workspace for this project. (The video is about reality mapping)
On the imagery tab, in the Ortho Mapping group, click the New Workspace drop-down menu and choose New Workspace. In the Workspace Configuration window, type a name for the workspace. Ensure that Workspace Type is set to Ortho Mapping, the sensor data type is Drone and the scenario is default. Accept all other default values and click Next. In the Image Collection window, click Add, browse to the data location, and select the Images folder. Ensure that the Spatial Reference and Camera Model values are correct. If not modify by clicking the spatial reference button and choose the correct reference system for your project. Click Next. Accept all the default settings in the Data Loader Options window and click Finish. You will see a orthomapping mapping container added to the catalog where the source imagery data and derived mapping products will be stored. All layers relating to the the reality mapping project are added to the contents pane. More files such as GCPs and products will be added to the appropriate layers later as we initiate the proper steps in the reality mapping workflow. The images, drone path, and image footprints are displayed on the map.
Notice that the Ortho Mapping tab provides tools and wizards for bundle block adjustment and the generation of ortho mapping products. We will perform block adjustment in the next lesson.
